I hate hackers, I hate all the viruses and worms, and other nasty stuff they corrupt the web with. My particular hate on them at this moment stems from two things. The first is that a good friend of mine had his webcomic shot down by one of the little bastards a few days ago [...] Once upon a time Dungeons and Dragons was nothing more than a fairly simple rule set modification for miniature wargaming that moved the focus from huge armies to individual “heroes”. Over the years the miniatures aspect got phased out and throughout the 80s and 90s the game practically be played with nothing more than dice [...] Castle is back ladies and gentlemen. Last night marked the premier of the third season, and it is good. I’m gonna have to start this with the admission that I’ve got something of a man crush on Nathan Fillion. I’ve loved the guy since Firefly, which like many is where I was first really introduced [...] The final battle, the grand finale, at last the party comes to face to face with the Wastewalker, and bashes his face in. So this past Thursday my party finished up this season of Encounters in the wastes of Athas. Amazingly nobody died, though almost all of them came very close. The table next door wasn’t [...] Well talked to the shop today. It appears my truck, which if you might remember was wrecked a few weeks ago, is very nearly fixed. In fact according to the shop it was 90% done last Friday. What’s holding it up you might ask, the bumper maybe, problems installing the new airbags, they can’t find [...] Ninjump is my new spare moments addiction. You know those spare moments you find yourself in when your waiting at the doctor’s office, or stuck in line at the bank. Enough time to get bored but not enough to really get into anything with any real depth. Well Ninjump is perfect for those times. It’s a [...] Our second to last encounter began last night with the party within site of the gleaming walls of the City of Tyr. Leagues of desert remained to be crossed, but with their goal in site, and no obvious pursuit they were able to take a short rest. Of course as so often happens just as the [...] This week’s Encounter nearly didn’t happen as we were under a heavy rain storm. Ironic that a game set in a desert might get stopped by flooding. But I was able to gather four of the regulars to continue their trek through the harsh world of Athas despite the storm. The Gith were the foes this [...] Life can be a bitch sometimes. Last Friday was looking to be a very good day, the weather was great, it was looking like I’d be getting off work early, everything was going swell, and then I went I lunch.
